Although its origins trace to Croatia and it is genetically identical to Italy\u2019s Primitivo, the name Zinfandel has become distinctly American.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs\">Zinfandel is a grape that can show a lot of range in the glass. Expect bold fruit, lively spice, and plenty of character, often with notes of blackberry, raspberry, cherry, black pepper, clove, anise, and herbs. Some bottles lean bright and balanced, while others are richer, darker, and more powerful.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div class=\"x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs xtlvy1s\">For this tasting, we\u2019ll work through a lineup that highlights that range and gives us a chance to compare styles, talk about what makes Zinfandel so distinctive, and enjoy one of California\u2019s most expressive red grapes.
