These are wines with depth, structure, earthiness, red fruit, savory notes, and the kind of warmth that feels just right as fall settles in. We’ll begin with several Brunello di Montalcino wines, exploring how vintage, vineyard site, oak aging, and producer style shape these age-worthy reds.

We’ll also taste a selection of Rosso di Montalcino, often thought of as Brunello’s younger, more approachable companion. The Rosso wines will give us a chance to compare freshness, fruit, tannin, and winemaking choices while still staying firmly rooted in the character of Montalcino.

The lineup includes wines from a range of producers, vintages, and price points, from small estates to well-known names. It should be a rich, interesting, and very seasonally appropriate evening for anyone who enjoys Italian wine, Sangiovese, or simply wants to better understand why Montalcino has such a devoted following.

Brunello & Rosso di Montalcino
Date: Saturday, October 10, 7:00 pm
Hosted by: Michael and Clara Maddox, 3522 Par St, N., Fargo, 58102

$25 members, $35 guests*

*non-member guests may attend up to three wine tasting events.
