Last year we had the opportunity to taste the Syrah grown in Australia, known there as Shiraz (sheeraz). In France and Italy, where it originated, the grape produce herbaceous wines with higher acidity whereas in the US and South America one finds Syrah that is fruit driven with lots of spice.
