The farm garden is doing surprisingly well despite the spotty herbicide contamination. Other than the beans and half of the tomatoes, the rest of the garden is lush and producing. Things are growing rapidly. The corn is already knee high and it’s not yet the 4th of July. I have already harvested a lot of spinach and some lettuces. The cucumbers are growing by leaps and bounds. The squash is exploding. And the beets are starting to bulb out already. Even the brandywine tomatoes and watermelon that the rabbits got to have bounced back.
Here are some snapshots of the June 30 garden.
Looking real good. I like how its weed free. I know it takes a lot of work. Not having my own garden this year, I can realize the time I have spent previous years. Well my knee should be all healed up for the next year’s garden. Good luck .MARK
It’s been too hot here for many things. I’ve lost basil and carrots and even some of the beets. I’ll try again later I guess. Out of 11 plants I have ONE artichoke. I would think this is ideal weather for those,. There’s still time. I have a few tomatoes waiting to turn red, yellow and whatever! The eggplants are in bloom. I should try peas like you have. I LOVE them raw!
