Our November 7 Red River Valley American Wine Society tasting will explore Syrah and Shiraz, two names for the same grape that can produce remarkably different wines depending on where and how they are grown.
From the peppery, savory, and sometimes smoky character associated with Syrah from France’s Rhône Valley to the rich, dark fruit and bold spice often found in Australian Shiraz, this versatile grape has plenty to offer. We’ll explore how climate, geography, and winemaking techniques influence its flavors, structure, and style.
With notes that can range from blackberry and plum to black pepper, herbs, chocolate, and spice, Syrah is especially well suited to cooler weather. November is a great time to settle in with these flavorful reds and discover what makes this grape a favorite among wine lovers around the world.
Join us for an interesting exploration of one grape with two names and a remarkable range of personalities!
