Our July 11 RRV AWS tasting will be a perfectly timed summer exploration of two charming Italian wine styles: Prosecco and Brachetto.
We’ll taste through a lively lineup of Prosecco from several key areas, including Conegliano Valdobbiadene, Asolo, Treviso, and Valdobbiadene Superiore. Along the way, we’ll compare Brut and Extra Dry styles, talk about what makes these sparkling wines so fresh and food-friendly, and look at how place, grape growing, and winemaking shape what ends up in the glass.
To finish, we’ll move into Brachetto, a lightly sparkling, aromatic red from Italy’s Piedmont region. With its lower alcohol, bright fruit, gentle sweetness, and playful bubbles, Brachetto is exactly the kind of wine that makes sense in July.
In Italy, these wines represent community and festivities. This should be a refreshing, easy-to-enjoy tasting with plenty to learn, whether you already love sparkling wines or are simply curious about what makes these Italian wines so popular. So, come out and enjoy the party!
