After a good long Sunday run I usually refuel with my favorite smoothie and after a brisk 8 miles this morning I needed some superfood. Blueberries are absolutely packed with antioxidants and healthy vitamins.
Here’s my recipe for my super delicious super power smoothie.
1 cup skim milk
1 cup frozen blueberries softened in the microwave for 1 minute
1.5 scoops of non-flavored whey protein powder
2 tbsp ovaltine chocolate drink mix
1 tbsp natural creamy peanut butter
What a beautiful shake Greg…but I am getting a funny image of you turning into a blueberry a la Violet in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! hehe It’s hard to imagine the taste combination of the shake, but I would certainly give it a try!!
Thanks Suzy! It is delicious. Believe it or not the chocolate and peanut butter just add a dimension of flavor to the smoothie but it doesn’t overwhelm it. I’m so happy this post made it on Foodgawker.
One of my other favorite smoothies is with muskmelon and frozen strawberries – no chocolate or peanut butter in that one. It’s light and refreshing. You can also use bananas.

Thanks for the post- it looks absolutely delicious! In fact, it looked so good, I used it as my recipe of the day on my company’s, the National Peanut Board, Facebook fan page. Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/National-Peanut-Board/63476447613?ref=ts.
From America’s peanut farmers, thank you for your support and love of peanuts/peanut butter!
